Ö jewellery boxes, by Mark Braun and Lichte PorzellanWith increasingly sophisticated jewellery available these days, it is a little surprising that the design of jewellery boxes has not taken a similar direction. Last year, though, we spotted an intriguing series in porcelain. We were so taken by Mark Braun's work -- which was inspired by the history of porcelain as a precious material and the importance of stones in German folklore -- that we asked him to create a special series. Produced at the Lichte Porzellan plant in central Germany and lined with luminous mother of pearl, the resulting set of pebble-shaped boxes is a covetable addition to any dressing table.Photograph by Nice Images
